I finally feel like it is really Spring Break. Not because I'm taking my top off in Cancun or anything like that... just because I'm finally getting used to the idea that I'm able to relax! I haven't had a truly relaxed moment since finals week began, but since Friday the peace has been sinking it.
Spring break started off hectic since it was Matt's birthday on the 24th which was only the day after I finished my last final. That same night we had to pick Matt up at LAX at 11pm which was crazy. On Friday I went out to a fancy Asian seafood restaurant called Crustacean that's near Rodeo Drive with Matt's family to celebrate his birthday. I didn't think I'd be crazy about the food because it was going to be seafood (I mean, the same IS "Crustacean!) but I was surprised because they had a lot of delicious looking things on the menu that didn't include seafood. I got Cornish Game Hen while we talked about PETA.
The next morning I went with Matt's fam to brunch in Marina del Rey at the lovely Café del Rey to meet up with Matt's Dad's side of the family for the annual Gilbert Birthday Bash. It was nice seeing all of his relatives again and of course we had a delicious meal. That took up most of the afternoon, and afterwards I spent time with my own family, mostly while in a food coma. Thankfully my eating habits have slowed down slightly since Saturday because otherwise I'm afraid I might gain 100 pounds before school starts again.
Monday I was treated to a much needed massage at Burke Williams which was DIVINE, dahlings. I felt like a diva, and that was a good thing.
The rest of the week is going to be spent trying to cram in everything that needs doing, but I'm thankful that it's just social necessities and not work related.
